We’re looking for an outstanding Senior Structural Engineer ready to step up to the next level.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and Chartered Structural Engineer with membership in IStructE or MICE, demonstrating proficiency in design utilising EuroCodes and British Standards. The ideal candidate will possess substantial expertise in various domains, including Building Structures, Marine Structures, Geotechnics, Deterioration of Reinforced Concrete, and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS).
As a key team member, you will lead a diverse range of projects, spanning from smaller-scale initiatives to multi-million-pound ventures. Your role will extend beyond technical prowess to proactive client engagement, where you will be the primary point of contact for existing and potential clients. This entails understanding their requirements, generating proposals, and formulating comprehensive programs to ensure successful project delivery.
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of engineering excellence and a passion for continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be adept at managing both themselves and their team effectively, contributing to the collaborative spirit that defines our like-minded group of professionals. Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential for effective communication, and experience in design using MasterSeries and TEDDS is a definite advantage.

The roles and responsibilities for the person joining us will include:
- Work as team lead on projects up to £5m in value
- Work as a member of a team under the direct supervision of a Director on projects in excess of £5m.
- Work directly with Clients and design teams (Architects, Surveyors, Main Contractors) to identify and manage Client’s Requirements.
- Attend design team meetings, workshops, develop engineering design solutions and present and agree programmes.
- Check and approve designs and specifications in preparation for SER certification.
- Mentoring and training more junior staff.
- Business Development.
The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of some or all of the following:
- Structural analysis and design for residential, industrial and commercial projects.
- MasterSeries, TEDDS, CADS or similar design software.
- FE design methods.
- AutoCAD / REVIT / BIM.
- Working in the construction industry, in a design office environment, managing projects. in excess of £5m from inception to completion.
- Communicating with, and the management of, clients, contractors and consultants.

Other Requirements:
- Locally Qualified.*
- At or near chartered status with the Institution of Civil/Structural Engineers.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
*Locally qualified preferred, however, applications may be considered from non residentially qualified professionals subject to obtaining necessary employment permits and candidates meeting the necessary Guernsey entry requirements.
